Unsure? You can always:
Crickets
Anyone who has been kept up at night thanks to loud chirping is familiar with crickets. Usually found outside in the evening, crickets can heavily infest yards, driveways and backyards and occasionally infest the inside of a home or office. Crickets can survive almost indefinitely in a home because they feed mostly on linens and clothing. Any general pest control service will knock out a cricket infestation with ease.
Earwigs
Earwigs are easily recognized by their long, scary looking pincher things. Thankfully, these pinchers do nothing and are only used to scare off potential predators. Earwigs usually like to hide in dark, moist places and under things like rocks, mulch, logs or plants. Earwigs are easily depopulated by our general pest control services. Unlike the name suggests, earwigs are not known for lodging in people's ears. That's a relief.
Water Bugs
Also called Oriental Cockroaches, water bugs are big, nasty bugs. They usually take refuge in dirty areas or under tight spaces and feed on decaying organic materials. In other words, when they see old dog poop or dirty dishes, they see dinner. The first step to getting rid of water bugs is to clean any dirty areas in and around your house, clean up after the dog, and take out the trash. If issues persist, our general pest control services will do the rest of the work.
Flys & Gnats
Flies, gnats and other annoying flying pests are a difficult nut to crack because their habits evade any standard liquid treatment being effective. Instead, the way to get rid of flies is by identifying and removing the source of the infestation. Things to keep an eye out for include: trash, old meat, old or bad fruits and vegetables, animal feces, or in the worst case, something dead. (possibly a rodent that snuck into the attic or subareas) If after all potential sources have been removed or the source can't be removed (this is often the case with horse or ranch owners), we would suggest purchasing Vector Control Lights or Fly Traps.
Moths
Like flies, unfortunately there isn't much we can do about moths, the problems lies with the source. For moths, they're going to be targeting poorly stored or unsealed foods, areas with lots of food crumbs, closets with old and dirty clothes and dusty storage areas. All a moth infestation needs is a healthy dose of spring cleaning!
Pantry Pests
Various pantry pests infest a home's cabinets for one reason: they like the free food! Usually poorly stored grains, cereals or seasonings are going to attract pantry pests. The best way to remove a pantry pest infestation is by throwing out any unsealed food products in any cabinets or pantries. With their food source removed, they should be vacating or dying within a week. for more severe pantry pest infestations, we recommend a full interior cleanout and treatment of the infested rooms.

During the hotter months of the year, we get a lot of calls from people wanting us to get rid of their “brown recluse” spiders. Truth is, here in Southern California we don’t get brown recluse spiders. If we did see an influx in brown recluse spiders here it would probably be plastered all over the news, since we know them as the spider that can cause necrosis or even death. Fact of the matter is, we don’t really get brown recluses here and most of the time what we are actually seeing are brown widows.
