Here are some of the most common questions customers have regarding our services. If your question wasn't answered below, please feel free to ask by contacting us via email or phone, we'll be sure to add your question to the list below.
Why can't I just do my own pest control?
You can. However, this presents greater health risks and will not be as effective as using a pest control company. The products that are sold over the counter to non-licensed consumers have no residual. What that means is that those products only kill bugs on contact. The products that our technicians use keep working over time, so spraying on contact is not needed and the product is all around more effective. Our service keeps working up to 45 days after we leave.
What products do you use? Are they safe?

What if my scheduled service conflicts with a time my gardener is at my house?
We can perform service while your gardeners are present. Gardeners are used to working with pest control technicians servicing the same property. Our technicians will greet your gardeners and work around them.
Do I need recurring service or is a one time service enough?
It depends, for some pest problems a one time service is enough to eliminate your problems. However, some pest infestations require a more regular service in the form of Every-Other-Month and Quarterly services. Our technicians and office representatives will work with you to assess the level of infestation treat it appropriately.
Why can't I get an exact appointment time?
Because of unforeseeable circumstances such as Los Angeles traffic or a service being more involving than originally anticipated, our technicians typically need 1-4 hour windows of time for their arrival period.
Will this get rid of all my bugs?
We are a pest control company, there is no such thing as an exterminator. A few stragglers are bound to find their way into your home occasionally, but for the most part your pests should be near non-existent.
Why do I have to leave my house if the product is safe?
When our products are first applied, they are wet. When the product is wet is when it is most dangerous to humans. We have our customers leave the house for up to 4 hours while the product dries for your safety.
How can I pay you for your services?
You cab pay almost any way you want. We accept: Cash, Checks and most Credit Cards.
How soon will I see results after a service?
Because our products are residual and long lasting, it could take up to a week for your pest population to be controlled. However, you will most likely see results a day or two after service is performed.
What if I'm pregnant?
Women who are pregnant are just as susceptible to our products as any other person. However, the child will be at risk if product is ingested. Please use extreme precaution if you are pregnant.
Is it safe?
We do everything we can to keep you and your family safe. Pesticides can be dangerous if not properly applied, that’s why hiring a trustworthy pest control company with good experience and knowledge is important. Remember, these products are designed to kill insects. We strive towards a perfect balance of safety and effectiveness. Keep in mind that the products that we use are very low in toxicity.
Why do bed bugs cost so much money?
At first glance, most people assume that bed bugs can be killed just like any other pest. Unfortunately, eliminating a bed bug infestation involves more expensive products, more equipment and more time from our technicians to service. See our Bed Bugs page for more info.
How do I know what kind of bugs I have?
Our knowledgeable technicians and office staff will work with you to get a positive ID either over the phone or via inspection on the pests you are seeing.
Give us a call, we often can identify an issue over the phone, or your can contact us or send an email with a photo to info@expertpest.com.
How does service work if I have dogs or other animals?
Our technicians are great with pets. There is no issue with servicing outside only while your pets are in the yard. For inside services you will want to have your pet leave the same way you would, for indoor/outdoor pets this is as simple as letting them outside while the inside is treated. If you have any special instructions for handling your pets, let us know we’ll be sure it happens.
What does a pest control service include?
Our standard General Pest Control is our most popular service. This service includes control for ants, spiders, crickets, earwigs silverfish, oriental roaches, scorpions and pill bugs.
The initial service is an inside/outside treatment to lay down a good foundation. Recurring service includes service of outside of property only. The technician treats all cracks and crevices and the entire barrier of property with product. Also included in regular service is removal of visible spiderwebs from eves around windows and common areas.
Do I have to be home when you service?
No. If there are any special instructions, keys or gates that require our attention, please notify office staff before the service date to ensure that our technicians can service your home thoroughly if you are not present.
Can I make special requests regarding my service?
Of course! One thing that sets us apart from most pest control companies is our ability to carry out any special instructions for the service. Anything from not leaving invoices or treating specific areas to picking up a pizza for dinner. Be sure to let our office staff know of any special instructions you might have. We love to serve.
